The article is devoted to the anthroponymic systems of the Russian, the Vietnamese languages and the language of the Hausa people, the originality of their functioning. In the work much attention is paid to the role of the name in human life as an integral component of identity and a vital link connecting him with the society. The article shows national-driven vision of the world and the difference in emotional significance. The components of a complete anthroponymic model in these languages are considered in detail: the emergence of cognomens or nicknames, calendar and mundane names and formation of names (or their absence) as an anthroponymic category. Special attention is given to the names reflecting the actual properties and qualities of the wearer. The divergence of the connotative values of the same words, often becoming the nicknames in the national language picture of the world is also shown here.
