Characteristics of ambiguity in the sytem of language and mental lexicon

The article discusses the characteristics of the notion ambiguity and its correlation with polysemy. Levels of ambiguity realization and the difference between homonymy and polysemy are also highlighted. Special attention is paid to the problem of an ambiguous word from the point of view of an ordinary speaker.
