"Tayozhnaya, ozernaya, stepnaya": a scientific-educational project in the field of geography and regional studies

The study provides a detailed description and an analysis of the outcomes of the scientific-educational initiative - «Tayozhnaya, Ozernaya, Stepnaya» сonducted by the Buryat Republican Branch of the Russian Geographical Society between 2021 and 2022. The project aimed to promote knowledge about the geography, local history, and history of Buryatia through various activities, including the development and distribution of the«Tayozhnaya, Ozernaya, Stepnaya» geographical lotto game, scientific-methodical seminars for teachers, and workshops for students. The project also organized scientific-practical seminars on local history for teachers in Ulan-Ude, scientific-methodical seminars on local history for history and geography teachers in schools in the Barguzin district of the Republic of Buryatia, and a republican seminar. By the end of 2022, over 12,000 students had participated in lessons and extracurricular activities utilizing the geographical lotto game. The scientific-educational project «Tayozhnaya, Ozernaya, Stepnaya» was recognized as one of the top youth initiatives by the Russian Geographical Society.
