The relevance of the "green agenda" for Russia in recent years has been caused mainly by external factors: the introduction of transboundary carbon regulation in the European Union, the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, and the Paris Agreement of 2015, but at the same time, by its nature, the question of a "green" transition is a matter of internal development of the country. Despite economic and geopolitical difficulties, the environmental agenda in Russia will not lose its relevance. In the article, the authors reveal the need to ensure balanced sustainable development of the Russian Federation using taxonomy -a standard and guideline for all participants in the ESG ecosystem, which is designed to help investors and companies make informed decisions in accordance with the principles of sustainability, environmental and social issues.
