Tatar enlightment and religious reforming in XIX century

The review is given to the problems of tatar social and political development on pre-reform stage in the context of secular and religious components. The conclusion that tatar social and political thought of the first half of XIX century developed syncratically (as cultural and religious) is made basing on the analyses of the activity of reformers A. Utyz-Imyani, Sh. Madzhani, K. Nasyri and others. At the same time religious reforming was formed under the influence of oriental Muslim traditions, and cultural enlightment was formed because of western and Russian.
