Morality plays and spiritual conflicts in the XVIth century

The article overviews a little-known subject for the Russian theatre criticism – polemical Morality plays, a particular genre of the XVIth century West-European theatre, very popular during the Reformation. It analyses a play by the French Protestant dramatist M.Malingre, «Moralité de la maladie de Сhrestienté», staged by the author in Neuchâtel (Suisse) in 1533.
