Potatoes are a vegetatively propagated crop, more than 75% of elite class seed potatoes are annually imported into the Russian Federation from abroad. Priority seed production Russia - import substitution of foreign varieties of domestic on the basis of introduction of shortened schemes of seed production technologies that ensure large-scale production of minitubers and increases the yield of minitubers per plant. The most important element of the promising technology is the collection of minitubers as they grow. Aerohydroponic method is quite complicated to implement, is very expensive and gives a positive result on a limited set of varieties. The substrate method is less critical to technological failures, universal-suitable for all varieties. The best option for the substrate method was a substrate containing 20% modified zeolite and 80% lowland peat.
