The article discusses the technology of artificial intelligence as one of the promising innovations in the media industry today. Specific examples of the implementation of this technology in the activities of some Russian and foreign media enterprises are given. Statistical data of economic efficiency as a result of the application of artificial intelligence technology are shown. The authors of the article believe that due to the integration of artificial intelligence technology into various production processes the economic efficiency of the enterprise increases due to the increase in total revenue and audience growth. The prospects for the development of artificial intelligence technology in the media sphere at various stages of production are identified. According to the authors, the proposed options for using this technology can simplify the process of data collection and analysis; help in creating trailers, posters, posters; determine the most preferable content for a particular viewer; improve the quality of the product provided; diversify the content with interactive elements to achieve a participatory effect when watching a film or TV series; make a forecast of future preferences of the audience, based on the analysis of their interests and tastes, as well as broadcast content not only within the limits of the film or TV series, but also within the limits of the audience.
