In the context of the present-day situation in world energy, the issue of Arctic development becomes acute. This fact explains the interest in a detailed study of the geological structure of the Anabar-Khatanga Saddle. At the moment, there is no consensus over the prospectivity of these lands; and the reasons are both complicated tectonic framework and equally complicated geodynamic history, and relatively low geological and geophysical exploration maturity. The purpose of the research is to study the tectonic framework and evolution of the Anabar-Khatanga saddle sedimentary cover for further assessment of hydrocarbon potential. The results of backstripping allowed the history of tectonic development of the region to be reconstructed. The time interval spanning the Permian end and the Triassic beginning is a key stage in the history of formation of sedimentary basins in Yenisei-Khatanga Regional Trough and Anabar-Khatanga Saddle. The occurrence of positive structures on the territory of the Anabar-Khatanga saddle is probably caused not only by deep crustal disturbances, but also by the influence of Cambrian and possibly Devonian salt formations. Emplacement of huge amount of intrusions into sedimentary cover caused heating of rocks, thermal volume expansion, and increase in ductility of salt formations. The last significant geodynamic event in Taimyr history is structural transformation of the sedimentary cover in Paleogene, which was related to the opening of the Eurasian Ocean in the Arctic
