The article is dedicated to the contrastive study of religious and ethical ideas of Dostoevsky and K. Aksakov. The principal works in this connection are "The Tale of Brazhnik" by Aksakov and the character of Marmeladov in the novel "Crime and Punishment". The polemic role of this character, pointed against the Slavophil theory, is mentioned. The evolution of Dostoevsky to the Slavophil side is traced in the chapter "Cana of Galilee" of the novel "The Brothers Karamazov". The case of appeal of Dostoevsky to the works of Slavophiles, that was not observed before, isidentified.
