The theme of “the Russian world” in “The Tale of the Ruin of Ryazan by Batu” is considered through the prism of the opposition “ours - others”. There is demonstrated in the analysis that the author presents the difference between two worlds, what opposite features of “ours” and “others” are manifested in the text, what features of the Russian world are fixed in the tale: Orthodoxy, loyalty to the motherland, holiness, general history and a special type of hero.
