Thematic map of film tourism as a design tool for destination cinema-cultural space (the case for Leningrad region)

The article present results of design studies aimed at the growth of film tourism in Leningrad region. The project is based on scientific, marketing and information-statistical ideas about the ways and methods of forming the image of the territory as a film destination. The project implemented under the state program «Development of Culture and Tourism in Leningrad Region» and developed in the practice of tourism companies in the region, is considered as a framework concept for constructing cinema-cultural spaces of tourist destinations in Russia as a country with a rich cinematic heritage. The project is based on the creation of a thematic tourist map «Cinema Tourism of Leningrad Region», considered as an information basis for the development of cinema routes and their promotion in the cultural tourism market. An attempt has been made to scientifically comprehend the spatial and geographical features of film works, determined by the choice of locations for filming. The characteristics of the region, due to its film culture, are given, recommendations are made for the further development of the region as a film destination, a guidebook, eurobooklets and recommendations are created to not only help the tourist as a consumer of the film product «imagine a film portrait of the Leningrad Region», but also provide the necessary assistance to tourism specialists in creation of infrastructure, with its content corresponding to the theme of film tourism facilities. The research was carried out with the financial support of the Committee of the Leningrad Region for Tourism.
