Speech rate as a reason for reduced forms of Russian words in everyday communication

The article is devoted to the analysis of allegro (reduced, compressed, short) forms of Russian words, which are examined from the perspective of their emergence in spontaneous speech. One of the reasons of emergence of reduced forms in communication is the speech rate. The article gives various views on this problem. The article presents the results of the study, which was aimed to answer the question whether the acceleration speech rate is a prerequisite for reduced forms. The analysis of this dependence is based on the Speech Corpus of the Russian language (block “One Speaker’s day”).
