The article continues to study creative strategies of the authors of the oldest scientific and educational magazine «Vokrug Sveta». The scientific-popular articles published in the magazine over the last decade (2001-2013) were reviewed. Analysis of the presentation principles shows that the scientific-popular publications reproduce the fundamental epistemological structure of scientific discourse: by the nature of its genre the articles are close to the genre of scientific review. At the same time, such articles significantly differ from the scientific ones by their dominant communicative aim. The main purpose of «Vokrug Sveta» is not only providing the reader with a complete knowledge of the scientific problem, but also gain an understanding of a wide audience of nonspecialists. The basic techniques to overcome the strict framework of scientific discourse were identified and described, including an introduction to the text of fictional elements, publicist and essayistic narrative. All this allows characterizing the scientific- popular discourse of «Vokrug Sveta» as a quasi-scientific.
