Trends in sentencing for environmental crimes (on the example of the Chelyabinsk region)

The article notes that the human habitat is the space in which he daily functions and realizes himself as a person. The legislator emphasizes the specific object of the crime - ecology, and thus indicates that environmental problems in Russia have become an acute problem, which requires the intervention of the state apparatus. Research in the field of ecology boils down to finding the best ways to prevent environmental crimes. A well-calculated, scientifically based and resourced strategy will help restore balance and protect the natural environment from encroachments on it, thereby ensuring the survival of humans as a species. To create a complete understanding of the current situation on environmental crimes, it is necessary to study not only the norms, but also the application of the criminal law in practice. Since it is not possible to study sentences throughout Russia within the framework of one work, the authors studied them only in the Chelyabinsk region.
