Trends in the development of the agglomeration center of agriculture-oriented region (case study of the city of Barnaul)

The research goal is to determine the general and specific factors of the economic development of the agglomeration centers of Russia’s agriculture-oriented regions. The agriculture industry complex of Russia is the leading systemically important and currently export-oriented sphere of the country’s economy that forms the food market, food and economic security, labor and settlement potential of the regions. To a large extent the regional specialization determines the economic development of the central cities of these regions. The system of indicators to determine the key agriculture-oriented regions of Russia is proposed. Agriculture-oriented regions with a developed agricultural sector have been identified; they account for more than 40 % of agricultural production in Russia and their resource potential can ensure a key role in implementing the policy of import substitution of food products and increasing their exports. The following regions are agricultureoriented ones: Altai, Krasnodar, Stavropol, Belgorod, Voronezh, Rostov, and Saratov Regions...
