The article is devoted to the analysis of trends in the development of electronic educational resources as digital educational books in the context of the transformation of modern education. The article discusses the term "electronic educational resource" in the context of the social and communicative system of the book. The electronic educational resource in the framework of the study is interpreted as an information object combining the characteristics of an electronic document and a learning tool. The article outlines the pedagogical principles and didactic features of educational publications that contribute to the formation of a student's personality, as well as the requirements for the content, structure and visualization of electronic educational resources. Special attention is paid to the possibilities of electronic educational resources in a digital environment, where the use of interactive tools, gamification and personalized support can stimulate critical thinking, independence and responsibility of students. The key aspects of the integration of digital technologies into the educational process are highlighted, including the personalization of learning, interactivity, multimedia, inclusivity and the use of analytics. The importance of observing book standards and didactic principles for improving the quality of electronic educational resources is emphasized.
