Trends in regional naming development

The article is devoted to the study of trends in the development of regional naming and the processes that influence the formation of the modern naming space of the region. The authors consider the impact of globalization to be one of the most important factors, which entailed the enhancing in the polyethnicity of regions and the change in linguistic and cultural realities affecting naming processes. The article defines toponymic and anthroponymic names as the basic, most stable and productive sources of regional naming. The analysis of modern regional names that emerged in the last decade has shown the active use of various forms and textures (languages, graphics, models), which makes it possible to create unusual names that have new images and meanings. The emergence of such names is considered as an active trend dictated by the time and conditions of society.
