Trends in the development of the oil crops market and the main measures of the state support for Russian breeding in modern geopolitical conditions

The article presents the preliminary results of 2023 in production and promotion of oil crops under foreign trade restrictions, sanctions pressure and import substitution in the market of seeds of major agricultural crops. Currently, key measures of the state regulation of the development of Russian breeding include: the Federal scientific and technical program of agricultural development for 2017-2030, the new Federal Law “About Seed Production”, rules for localization of production, temporary restrictions on the import of certain types of seeds of agricultural plants on the territory of the Russian Federation, and the provision of subsidies for the renewal of the material and technical base. The state is taking comprehensive measures to stimulate seed breeding programs and support consumers of products of the fat and oil industry.
