The intensity of the impact of human activity associated with the consumption of energy, carbon-intensive products, is one of the most pressing problems in the implementation of climate programs in various countries. The article discusses the proposed mechanisms for introducing the EU carbon tax in relation to countries importing carbon-intensive products. It is concluded that some countries, including the Russian Federation, will face the problem of the lack of technologies and equipment to reduce the concentration of greenhouse gases, which increases the relevance of considering the introduction of a carbon tax in Russia. Thus, the purpose of the article is to study the proposed scenarios for the introduction of transboundary carbon regulation as the basis for further research in the field of possible negative consequences for Russia.
