Tendentiousness in interethnic communications: mechanisms of formation and expansion, approaches to correction

The article discusses the mechanisms of formation and expansion of tendentiousness in international communications, and research and correction approaches of these mechanisms as well. The authors state, justify and discuss assumption that a key role in the formation and expansion of tendentiousness plays the mechanism of radotage (nonsense), which A.J. Greymas described in the actant semantics theory. This mechanism correlates with the phenomena of dispositional attribution and the fundamental attribution error, which is identified with L. Ross’s dispositional tendentiousness. However, this mechanism, unlike attribution and dispositional tendentiousness, is not socio-psychological, but semantic and syntactic one; accordingly, the expansion of tendentiousness is understood as the capture of the text (discourse) of consciousness. Interpretative phenomenological analysis and narrative analysis are the methods allowing to reveal the operation of this mechanism and to correct its functioning.
