Teodor Currentzis as a trickster: cultural analysis

The author bases on the thesis of A.F. Losev that “myth is a symbol” and considers the symbolic image constructed by the conductor Teodor Currentzis. The study hypothesizes that T. Kourentzis' myth-making is based on the archetypal matrix located between two “poles” - the image of the divine and the image of the demonic. Such a binary opposition allows to refer to a more specific archetype of the trickster, which in M. Lipovetsky's concept is characterized by ambivalence, as well as by other properties. In order to determine the specifics of the archetypal forms operating in modern culture, a qualitative analysis of the conductor's self-designing tools is carried out through a contextual analysis of Internet resources. The article substantiates the conclusion: the mythical image of Teodor Currentzis is constructed on the principle of a trickster adapted to the expectations of the public.
