This article presents a theoretical study and analysis of the main features of speech therapy work on the development of coherent speech in preschool children who are in a bilingual environment and are simultaneously learning both their native and foreign languages. The interest in this topic is based on the fact that in recent decades there has been a trend towards early immersion of a child in a bilingual environment, since it is the preschool age that is considered the most favorable for starting learning a foreign language. At the same time, one of the most important tasks set for correctional teachers is the formation of grammatically correct, coherent and consistent speech, which in the future can act as one of the factors affecting both the child's school performance and the development of his personality as a whole. Given the importance of organizing such an educational process, special attention should be paid to those methodological recommendations and techniques that will take into account the basic patterns and mechanisms of the development of coherent statements, will minimize the risk of errors during speech therapy, and will also have an effective organization of the correctional process in this area, contributing to the successful formation of a comprehensively developed personality.
