This article discusses the problem of management of labor motivation of employees. The aim of the article is the study of the notion of "motivation" from the perspective of Russian and foreign authors, which are increasingly of interest and relevance in the modern world. The main attention concentrates on the role of motivation in personnel management, including basic types and the types of motivation that play an important role in the labor activities of employees.
