This article discusses the concept of social education for primary school age. The article is devoted to understanding the role of school education in the context of changing the educational paradigm. The mechanisms of socialization in school life, the main possibilities of educational strategies, tasks, directions and risks of the activity of the modern school as an institution of socialization are considered.
