Theoretical aspects of health-saving of students in the system of continuing education in tertiary education

The problem of health-saving is caused by the fact that in the system of values of the Russian education institutions health for the present time is not the key value. Therefore, the main objective of the academic staff is to train students to maintain their health, by creating both self-regulating and educational system ofhealth-saving. The education system should certainly share the responsibility, as it is only possible to recognize that the education outcomes are of high quality if the education system contains health saving components. The crucial direction is protection, preservation and promotion of a student’s health, not only physical, but mental, intellectual, and social ones. The paper highlights social health as the most important component. The factors of social health-saving were defined; approaches and the principles of maintaining social health were determined; the trends of health saving techniques were revealed. The role of continuing education in the preservation and strengthening of social health was noted.
