The article discusses the scientific, methodological and practical foundations of detection and development of fingerprints exposed to moisture and negative temperatures. The features of fingerprint examinations in the above cases are covered in detail, taking into account forensically significant changes received by objects in the external environment. Innovative developments of the Forensic Science Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the field of technical and forensic means and methods aimed at increasing the quantity and quality of fingerprints development during crime scene inspections and forensic fingerprint examinations are presented.
