Theoretical models of women's political participation

The article is devoted to the analysis of theoretical approaches to the study of women’s political participation. In the development of political science in this subject field, one can distinguish three major paradigms, among which the political science mainstream, the alternative of which are Marxist and Feminist approaches. In Russia, research on women’s political participation is characterized by a wide palette of concepts, which considers various aspects of the gender gap, and the relatively weak integration of women into politics and political institutions.
