Theoretical bases of the study of loyalty as a social psychological phenomenon in police organization

The article describes the theoretical foundations of organizational loyalty of police officers. Modern theoretical approaches to organizational loyalty, their idea's and specificity are presented. The aim of the present study was to generalize existing approaches to definition of “organizational loyalty”. In this case, general scientific methods of scientific knowledge (analysis, synthesis) were used. Author noted lack of consensus in determining the loyalty of police officers. As a result of study, author's definition of organizational loyalty of police officers was formulated and proposed. The findings may contribute to future empirical study of police officer loyalty.
