Theoretical basis for organizing and conducting a major event

The article raises a pressing issue related to the organization and holding of major events that have recently gained great popularity among the general population in the Russian Federation. The algorithm for organizing major events, their properties, functions, classification and factors that influence the success of their holding are studied. The main principles that must be followed, observed and adhered to when holding significant events are considered. The factors influencing the development of both regional and international tourism, as well as the social and economic development of the region, are identified.
