Theoretical foundations for the development of critical thinking in modern schoolchildren

The article deals with the theoretical foundations of critical thinking in schoolchildren. We emphasize that there is a need for the development of critical thinking in modern schoolchildren and that this type of mental activity helps children to know themselves and the world around him, develop logical thinking, and be able to find solutions to difficult tasks and problems. The article proposes various technologies for the development of critical thinking, which can serve as the best means for formation of this competence in modern schoolchildren. In general, it is noted that the development of critical thinking in schoolchildren is possible in the course of a special educational process aimed at cultivating in pupils such qualities as the ability to analyze and interpret situations, to argue their own point of view, to evaluate the information received and make the right decision.
