The theoretical foundations of the synthesis of alternative educational trends in the education science

The article deals with the theoretical foundations of the synthesis of alternative educational trends in the education science. It is suggested that integral cultural development of a person by means of education is possible through the simultaneous development of both valuable and scientistic thinking of a learner, as well as responsible consciousness of an individual. The authors discuss the resources of art in improvement of the pedagogical theory and practice, which is implemented in the art-based education. The paper emphasizes that it is essential to find optimal ways of balancing the education and the arts in the pedagogical process, rather than to make preference for one method over another.
