Theoretical perspectives in immigrant incorporation research

The article analyzes the key theoretical approaches to the process of immigrants’ incorporation into the host society in modern humanities. The study focuses on three principal theories: assimilation, multiculturalism and transnationalism. The author concludes that immigration theory gravitates to interdisciplinarity and views the issue of immigrants’ communication with the representatives of host society in terms of individual, group, societal and political perspectives.
