Theoretical approaches to the spatial organization of the ethnoeconomy of the Arctic region

The article discusses theoretical approaches to the spatial organization of the economy. About 40% of the Arctic zone total population lives in the Russian Federation - about 2.5 million people, 82.5 thousand of them are representatives of indigenous peoples. So, it is necessary to take into account the ethnic characteristics of the North indigenous minorities in order to form a successful economic strategy for regional development and regional policy towards the indigenous minorities of the North. The article reviews the history of the regional economy formation, in particular ethnoeconomics, presents approaches to the spatial organization of ethnoeconomics in a historical and relevant context. The analysis is carried out and the characteristic features of conducting economic activity by indigenous peoples in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation (AZRF) are revealed. Considered the international experience and the latest development strategies set out in the regulatory documents adopted in the Russian Federation in the XXI century. Preresented scenarios of the development of ethnoeconomics as a socio-economic subsystem of the Arctic regions of the Russian Federation are, as a result of generalization of methods, approaches and practical solutions of the spatial organization of ethnoeconomics. The findings of the study can be used in the formation of development strategies for the indigenous peoples of the North in the regions of the Russian Arctic.
