The article considers theoretical and methodological tools for effective stimulation of employees of an enterprise. The main motivational theories are described in a retrospective context. Five conceptual directions for stimulating employees of an enterprise are identified: financial, non-material incentives, a system of goals and motivation, career growth and teamwork. A comparative methodological approach to improving the efficiency of personnel management is disclosed, through a material, non-material and combined method of stimulating employees of an enterprise.
