Svetlana Garmayeva's theoretical and methodological approaches in the study of literatures of the peoples of Russia

The article summarizes the research experience of the well-known Buryat literary critic, Professor of Russian and Foreign Literature Department of Dorzhi Banzarov Buryat State University Svetlana Iskrovna Garmaeva. We have analyzed the role and significance of S. I. Garmaeva’s scientific works in the development of Buryat literary criticism at the turn of the 21st century, revealed the features of the researcher's scientific thinking, her ability to systematize and generalize a bulk of historical, literary and cultural material, as well as the specificity of her methodological approaches, their scientific novelty. S. I. Garmaeva applies the provisions developed within the framework of the theories of ethnogenesis, evolution and cosmism, Eurasianism and passionarity. Based on various theories, the researcher determines her own aspects of the analysis of national literatures, considers the problem of preserving the national identity of various peoples as an important task in the era of globalization.
