Theoretical and pedagogical background to solve the problem of formation of legal culture of students of special vocational secure colleges

One of the conditions to build a rightful state is the legal culture of citizens. The means of formation of legal culture is legal education. However, the juvenile delinquency is growing and this worries parents, teachers, lawyers and the public. The prevention of delinquent behavior is an important task for state and public organizations. Particular attention should be paid to the forming of legal culture in teenagers. The literature on the topic is scattered and further research is needed. This study aims to reveal the essence of the legal culture of students of special vocational secure colleges. The article describes the key characteristics of the legal culture of the person. It gives the structural components of the concept of “legal culture” and presents the author's interpretation of the concepts of “legal culture”, “legal education”, “the formation of the legal culture of students of special vocational secure schools”. It also highlighted the specific features of professional secure schools compared to the juvenile correctional facilities. The article defines the nature and structure of the concept of “legal culture”, and gives the characteristics of “delinquent behavior”. The research outcomes can be used in the development of correctional programs for the formation of legal culture of juvenile offenders.
