The theory of demographic transition, as the basis of modern population studies

The subject of the article is the development of the paradigm of "demographic transition” in the world science and the subsequent penetration into the Russian literature. The basic (root) system of concepts of this paradigm is considered, including the ratio of fertility and mortality, as well as additional systems of concepts related to the behavior of population groups in the marriage and family sphere and in the sphere of migration.
