Intertext theory in philology: main stages of historical formation

The article deals with the problem of intertextuality theory in its basic stages and personalities. The author analyses the distinction between the concepts of "author", "text, reader", "intertext", "intertextuality", "metatext", "precedent text" in foreign and domestic literary science. She concludes on the degree of scrutiny and future prospects of the development of the problem.
