Since ancient times, scientists have been interested in how we speak, what means we use in conversation, what meaning we put into a statement, how many operations our thinking performed a second before we uttered this or that statement. Are we intentionally presenting information in the form of a question, behavior, or a simple narrative? Or is it happening unconsciously? How our interlocutor decodes our message, and why different people have such different reactions to our statements. This article discusses the theory of speech acts in modern linguistics, which provides information about the features of speech acts in linguistics. In addition, it covers the classification of speech acts.
