Theory of stages of economic growth of U.Rostow as a tool for analyzing the development of the country’s economy

This paper examines the relevance and applicability of the theory of stages of economic growth by W.Rostow in the modern world to solve the economic tasks of the state. The article examines the stages of formation and development of society proposed by W.Rostow from the point in retrospective analysis, comparing the theory with the basic concepts of economic cycles of other scientific figures of the XIX-XX centuries. An overview of the main types of economic cycles is given. The assessment of the validity of the theory is given, conclusions are drawn on the advantages and disadvantages of this theory for the prognostic function of the development of the country's economy.
