The purpose of this scientific work was to develop an original formulation of an eco-friendly ointment based on birch bark tar and evaluate its therapeutic efficacy in the treatment of interdigital dermatitis of non-contagious etiology in the area of the distal extremities in cattle in a livestock complex. The recipe for an ointment based on birch bark tar was developed by professors of the Moscow State University. N.P. Ogaryova, Mordovia, Saransk, Russia, samples of the ointment for the experiment were presented by ООО Khiminvest, Nizhny Novgorod. During the experiment with the use of the original ointment in the conditions of the livestock complex, positive results were obtained. When applying an ointment based on birch bark tar to the affected area 2 times a day, in the morning and in the evening, for 20 days in the treatment of purulent-inflammatory and necrotic processes in the area of the distal extremities in cattle, the duration of the healing phases is reduced, its use contributes to the speedy epithelialization of the lesion site, in comparison with the traditional method of treatment, significantly reduces the treatment time for this pathology in cattle and is recommended for use in livestock complexes.
