Problems of terminology in advocacy: on the "genre" and the content of the public call of 32 advocates addressed to the chairman of the investigative committee of the Russian Federation

Purpose: To determine the legal qualification of the public call of 32 advocates addressed to the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. Methodology: Formal and linguistic methods, as well as method of analysis of documents and legal texts were used in the work on the research topic. Results: It is concluded that the public call of 32 advocates aimed to ensure an objective and timely investigation by the Investigative Committee of Russia of all data on financial and other abuses of representatives of the management bodies of the Bar Association of the Republic of Bashkortostan does not have all the essential features of «denunciation», and therefore can not be qualified as a denunciation. According to its legal status, this call should be considered a statement of a group of citizens in the form of report on the shortcomings in the work of state bodies and their officials and criticism of the activities of these bodies and officials. Novelty/originality/value: The paper has scientific and practical value, as it deals with the topic, previously unanalyzed problem caused by the events that occurred in the recent history of the Russian advocacy.
