Territorial community as spatial characteristics of local self-government

The theoretical aspects of the territorial organization of local self-government in Russia are considered, with the emphasis on the category of "territorial community". Various points of view are analyzed. The author's position is substantiated, according to which it is proposed to introduce into circulation the concept of municipal territorial communities, formed on the basis of socio-demographic, economic, geographical and other factors of municipal territorial communities and legally fixed in the corresponding types of municipalities.
