Subject: Ways to improve the competitiveness of enterprises

In modern economies the competitiveness of enterprises is one of the key elements for business existence and its further development. Many scientists consider the category of competitiveness in the following way:

«The competitiveness of the enterprise is an advantage company in relation to other companies in the same industry both within the country and outside the country» [1].

Evaluation and assessment of competitiveness of the enterprise is essential for:

  • -    Development of measures aimed at improving its activity;

  • -    Definition of counterparties;

  • -    Enterprises entering new markets;

  • -    Investment activities.

There are several ways to improve the competitiveness of enterprises and they are represented at the Figure 1:

One of the ways to increase competitiveness is the increase in sales volumes of the product. It is important to note that the sales volumes growth by itself will not bring the desired results because it does not take into account such factors as the amount of costs of the enterprise, profit, etc. If you choose this method, you need to determine the volume at which the company will not go to a loss [2].

The next direction - is to improve the quality of the produced product, which will affect: the acceleration of scientific and technological progress, the development of new markets, increase exports. In other words with the increasing the quality of the product, we raise the rating company for consumers and access to the maximum level of profits [3].

Benchmarking – is a permanent and constant search and study competitors' experience and related industries, the constant comparison of desired results and business changes developed an ideal model. It is based on the information necessary to support continuous improvement of the system effectiveness [4]. Reduced costs - this is the standard method of increasing competitive advantage. In this case, in the best position to be the entity that is conducting a series of measures achieved lower costs than other companies in this field. Despite of this, keep this advantage is very difficult in today's business world. To do this, the company needs to build a clear and coordinated work of the staff to improve production technologies (logistics and research and development activities, personnel management and organizational culture). Therefore, if you use this method you need to constantly analyze the costs of all stages of design, production and sales of the product. Care should be taken to engage in market monitoring and to closely monitor the activities of competitors [5].

The method -enterprise competitiveness analysis This method is based on the evaluation of the marketing of business products and its product.

This method is the point evaluation of the enterprise features to ensure competitiveness. Estimates made by experts who work with the existing resources and working to improve competitiveness.

As part of the evaluation of these methods being based on the determination of the current and potential competitiveness. Typically, the current competitive determined by assessing competitive products thereof, and the potential -on the basis of methods that are defined for effective competition theory.

Thus, it is possible to come to this conclusion that the CEO and managers of enterprises should provide the constant analysis of the both internal and external markets and choose the best method to improve the competitiveness of the business if they want their enterprise taking the leading position in the sector of economy.
