Richly decorated Tibetan sword (broadsword) dpa'dam with traditional style mounting

The history of Tibet, tibetan traditional arms and armour, as well as the original technologies of it's making, shows it's actual and growing interest for modern researchers. The subject of this article is the Tibetan sword (broadsword) dpa'dam with mounting decorated, from one of the private collections of oriental antiquities from the People's Republic of China. The article represent the description of the sword and it's peculiarities. Due to the description of this sword and the analysis of it's characteristics, authors of the article came to the conclusion about sword's authenticity, technical peculiarities of it's making and characteristics of it's decorations. Brief description of the sword's analogues helps to understand all it's peculiarities. Its chronology (XIX century) is defined.
