The article addresses the issue of discourse features of professional legal discourse in the sphere of activities of internal affairs officers. Professional legal discourse in the sphere of activities of internal affairs officers is a process of text activity understood as a combination of communicative acts in which an internal affairs officer participates, which can follow a logical order due to their marked discreteness, on the one hand, and be totally independent not exhibiting any causative-consecutive or temporal connection, on the other hand. As a type of legal discourse, professional discourse in the sphere of activity of internal affairs officers manifests itself in a corpus of texts which cover all the situations of communicative interaction of an internal affairs officer with victims, offenders, eyewitnesses and colleagues. Among the typical features through the prism of which professional legal discourse in the sphere of activities of internal affairs officers is considered there is the sphere of activity, the type of activity in the sphere, the location where communication is typically carried out, the participants of communication with due attention to their social and communicative roles, general cognitive scenarios of the communicative situation, intentional specifics of the texts forming this type of discourse and their language form.
