The paper examines arrowheads discovered in the graves and funeralassemblages left behind by the population of the Don-Donets Region in the second halfof the 8th - early 10th centuries. Out of all recorded arrowheads 150 items were used forworking out a typology; the typology section is preceded by a brief historiographicaloverview of approaches to typologies of arrowheads. This typology of arrowheads singlesout series, types, subtypes and variants. Comparison of frequency of arrowhead finds inburials made in accordance with different funeral rites provided an opportunity to identifytypes common for various population groups of the Saltovo-Mayaki culture.
