The article investigates the issues of typology in scientific knowledge by a case study of methodological analysis of knowledge in cultural studies. Scientific knowledge is a way of getting true knowledge. It is oriented towards the knowledge of objective laws. Scientific knowledge is objectified in the language of science. An appeal to the analysis of methodological problems of cultural knowledge is one of the necessary theoretical prerequisites for understanding the spirituality of society and its development. Historically, the methodological analysis of the relationship between cultural studies and philosophy focuses on the value and cognitive problems in cultural studies, reveals certain prerequisites for the progress of its categorical apparatus, keeps sustained interest in its “eternal problems”, i.e. understanding the correlation between nature and society, individuals and social strata, categories of beauty and ugliness in art. Traditionally, philosophy paid more attention to those ideas and standards of knowledge that showed the theoretical and methodological fundamentals where the research methods had achieved the accuracy and quantitative certainty to a greater extent. The methodological analysis is applicable to any scientific field. In this article, it is referred to cultural studies.
