Typology of approaches to the analysis of the constitutional provision on the state-forming people in the Russian political and legal science

Amendments to the Constitution of Russia adopted in 2020 have made a significant contribution to the development of Russian constitutionalism. However, if there is an established consensus on the issue of supporting a set of amendments in society, then disagreements remain on certain provisions of the new version of the Basic Law today. In the article, using the methods of typologization and discourse analysis, an attempt is made to compile a typology of approaches to the analysis of the constitutional provision on the state-forming people in Russian political and legal science at the present stage. The criterion of typologization is the position of a particular researcher or group of researchers in relation to the analyzed provision of the Constitution. It is concluded that today in the domestic political and legal science there are three types of approaches to the analysis of this provision: nationalistic, egalitarian and linguistic. The results of the study allow us to make a systematic representation of the range of views of the Russian scientific community on this problem.
